Easter Egg Tempura Don
In celebration of Easter, I made this dish inspired from the Chicken Egg Tempura Don from the anime Food Wars/Shokugeki no Soma.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Mix an egg with cold water and soda.
* Step 2
Pour the egg mixture to the premixed tempura flour.
* Step 3
Remove the shell of the frozen eggs.
* Step 4
Roll the frozen eggs on a plate of flour, then to the tempura batter and finally to the panko bread crumbs.
* Step 5
Immediately deepfry the eggs into a preheated pan.
* Step 6
As for the side dishes, separate the broccoli and cauliflower heads.
* Step 7
Blanche the vegetables into a boiling water for 30 seconds.
* Step 8
Transfer to the vegetables into ice cold water.
* Step 9
Transfer them.to a strainer to dry.
* Step 10
To make cauliflower bunnies, cut the leaf veins of cabbage to shape like bunny ears and insert then on the cauliflowers.
* Step 11
Add roasted sesame sees to serves as eyes.
* Step 12
Sautee ginger and garlic on a preheated olive oil.
* Step 13
Add the lemon juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth, oregano and mirin.
* Step 14
Once the sauce started to boil, add the cornstarch and wait until it thickens.
* Step 15
Assemble the dish onto a bowl of rice.
