Salsa verde

Everyone’s flavor profile is a little different. Making good salsa is like painting. A little of this color and a little of that color, some blending, until it’s just right! Here are the key ingredients and directions. Quantities are up to your tastes! I make a big batch and freeze for later. Also, I like it spicy 😉🌶️

Ingredient

Food ration :

4-6 servings

30 minutes
5 cloves

3/4-1 bunch

cilantro

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Line baking sheet with tomatillos. Broil on high till charred. Flip and broil till other side is charred. Cool. Blend in blender. Add to bowl.

* Step 2

Line baking sheet with peppers (serranos and jalapeños), 1/2 onion quartered, and garlic cloves. Broil on high till charred. Flip and broil till other side is charred. Cool. Add 1-2 cups of tomatillos back to blender, with peppers, garlic, onion, and cilantro. Blend and add to bowl with tomatillos. Add lime and salt to taste. Stir and cool.
