Sweet pongal (sweet khichdi of South India)
#riceisthebest. It's specially prepared during festival and prasad in temple. Also prepared for breakfast.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Dry roast the lentil till golden colour. Wash rice and lentils. And pressure cook with 5 cups of water for 2 whistle.
* Step 2
In a pan melt jaggery with little water. And strain it to an another thick bottomed wok. This is to get rid of any impurities present in jaggery.
* Step 3
Add cooked rice mix well. Grind coconut and add it.
* Step 4
Add milk. Add cardamom powder mix well. Cook for few minutes. Add more milk or water if required.
* Step 5
In a small pan heat ghee add cashew fry till it turns golden colour. Add raisins fry till resins swell. Immediately add it to pongal.
* Step 6
Mix well and serve hot with some more ghee on topped.
