Khara pongal
#risenshine. Pongal contains lentils and also rice in equal quantity making it rich in protein as well as carbohydrate to give full energy all day. I gave twist with regular pongal to make it tasty and spicy. A
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Dry roast the lentil till golden colour.
* Step 2
Wash lentils and rice. Add 5 cups of water and pressure cook for 2 whistle.
* Step 3
In a wok heat oil or ghee add mustard and cumin. After mustard start popping add slightly crushed garlic. Add green chillies few pepper and curry leaves.
* Step 4
Add chopped tomato and cashews. Crush remaining pepper and add.
* Step 5
After tomatoes are cooked add cooked rice.
* Step 6
Add salt 1/2 cup water or as required. Add chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for couple of minutes.
* Step 7
Serve hot with peanut chutney or enjoy as it is.
