Steamed Cabbage, Onion, and Bacon in Consommé
It's a quick and easy dish you need when you don't feel like cooking, when you need one more side dish, or when you don't have time.
I don't need a cutting board or a knife since I tear up the cabbage and bacon.
We don't have a microwave, but if you use the microwave for the whole recipe, the only thing you need to wash might be a plate.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Cut the cabbage leaves, and bacon into bite-sized pieces.
* Step 2
Cut the onion into bite-sized pieces, and either lightly boil or microwave. If you are slicing the onion, you don't need to boil it. You can omit it if you don't like it.
* Step 3
Stack the cabbage, onion, and bacon in that order in a pot, and sprinkle with consommé stock granules, salt and pepper. Cover with a lid, and steam for about 10 minutes.
* Step 4
When the cabbage becomes soft and wilted, it's ready to be served Corn will be good in this dish as well.
