Pigs in a Blanket

I haven’t made pigs in a blanket since I can remember. So when I had viennas I was bored of having the same usual way, I decided I’d wrap them in my favorite pastry parcels and enjoy them different for a minute.

Ingredient

Food ration :

4 servings

Cooking time :

1 hr
250 g

flour

1/8 cup

cold water

1

egg

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Make the pastry by rubbing cold butter into the flour until crumbly. Whisk cold egg thoroughly, dig a hole into the flour mixture and mix in the egg lightly

* Step 2

Then add the cold water and mix to form a ball. Wrap the ball in cling firm and keep refrigerated for 30minutes to firm up

* Step 3

Prepare viennas by slitting the middle and stuffing it with cheese

* Step 4

Whisk the egg in a bowl. Roll the pastry thin and cut out triangles. Lightly brush egg onto the top side of your pastry to aid in sealing. You can do without the egg at this stage if you just pinch your pastry together when wrapping the viennas

* Step 5

Your pigs in a blanket are ready to bake once you’ve brushed the egg wash on and sprinkled some sesame seeds on them

* Step 6

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until pastry looks cooked and golden

* Step 7

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy!
