Dry Black Beans are absolutely a perfect choice for meals. It goes well with Rotis and Phulkas. Not to forget a steaming hot plate of freshly done plain boiled Rice too. Creamy, savoury and luscious, it is absolutely delicious. You will love it. Also called as Bhatt ki Daal or sometimes even Black Rajma, these are tiny Kidney Beans. Also known as Himalayan Black Rajma, these are super healthy. Always ensure to soak them well in advance to allow them to cook faster. Also they would be easy on our stomach. Soaking is really important.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and soak the beans overnight in enough of clean drinking water.
* Step 2
Pressure cook beans with same water along with a little salt and turmeric. Do not discard the water. It can be used for kneading the dough, gravies etc.
* Step 3
In the same cooker,heat oil. Add bay leaf and cumin seeds. Also add ginger-garlic green chilli paste, asafoetida and fry for a minute.
* Step 4
Now add chopped onions. Saute until translucent. Next is to add tomatoes and the spices. After done, add the boiled beans.
* Step 5
Cover and simmer on a low heat for the next 10-12 minutes. Adjust salt and garnish with lots of chopped coriander. Serve hot.
