#cookpadindia #sweetmeat #newrecipe Sohan Halwa also known as Soan Patti is a traditional Mughlai Dessert or a sweetmeat in Southeast Asia particularly available aplenty in any sweetmeat shop across the Country as well as in Pakistan. It's very popular in both India and Pakistan. It's basically a dense sweet confection or Halwa made with Ghee and Clarified Butter along with Dry Fruits and Nuts. Therefore to be precise, it's a rich one. In India, Ajmer city is popular for it and Multan city in Pakistan. Traditionally it's made with Sprouted Wheat flour in India and with Milk in Pakistan. Both the recipes are different both in looks and texture but every bit gorgeous and lip-smacking.

Ingredient

20-25 minutes

1 1/2 tbsp

Milk powder

1 pinch

Baking Soda

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Grease small sized or any size for that matter at first. Place the dry fruits and nuts of choice. I have added almonds, pistachios, muskmelon and watermelon seeds which were handy. Set aside until use.

Add sugar and ghee to a pan. Allow it to melt on a low heat. Keep stirring as required.

* Step 3

In the meantime mix all the dry ingredients as mentioned and set aside. When the sugar starts melting, it changes it's colour and becomes shiny and all clear. Keep stirring and begin adding the flour mix. Keep mixing everything.

* Step 4

It begins to form a mass and leaves the sides of the pan in no time. Keep stirring it. Take it off the heat. Add a tablespoon of it in each katori as seen.

* Step 5

Press it to flatten it a bit. Leave it to cool down for half an hour. Then just tap it upside down on the counter or a plate. The Sohan Halwa would come off easily. Looks beautiful and absolutely tempting.

* Step 6

Enjoy it on any special occasions or even when there are no such occasions. This can be made and relished at anytime any day of the Year. Enjoy! Yum!
