Passion Fruit Juice

#cookpadindia #summers Passion Fruit is refreshingly tart when it is fresh and becomes sweeter as it ripens. The flavours of this Fruit can be compared to the likes of those of Citrus one's mainly Kiwi, Melons and Pineapple. It's a native of Brazil and in India, it's cultivated in Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland. These are round or oval and comes in colours like Yellow, Red and Purple. Though Purple one's are available throughout the Year, others mainly are available in May to June and from September till October. Rich in Vitamin C, these help the body fight against the free radicals. Boosts immune system by helping the body absorb more Iron from plant based food. This unique Fruit also helps in keeping many infections at bay. Thus all in all, a super cool Fruit that's a must have Seasonal special.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Add everything to a blender jar at first. Blitz until done. For a glass of chilled juice, pulp of one passion fruit is enough. And as it is largely sour and mildly sweet, sugar can be adjusted accordingly. You can even add organic honey as well.

* Step 2

To preserve the pulp, I always take it out and store it in a glass jar and freeze. This ensures it's always fresh and flavourful. It can be used in smoothies, juices, salad dressings etc.
