Sambar Rice

#boxweek19 #cookpadindia This is one of the most simplest of Rice variations that's popular down South. Sambar is a great side dish that is a treasure house of numerous Vegetables and Lentils that are full of Vitamins and Minerals. A healthy option for the whole family.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Prepare Rice as per your requirement and keep aside. Meanwhile dry roast all the ingredients mentioned under Sambar powder and grind to a powder. Set aside.

* Step 2

Pressure cook Daal and Vegetables with some Ginger Turmeric, Sambar, Red Chilli powders and Salt. Set aside. In a large pot, heat Ghee and prepare the tempering.

* Step 3

To this prepared tempering, add in the cooked Rice and the Vegetables along with Daal. Add some Tamarind water as well and adjust Salt according to one's own taste. Cook on a low heat for about 10-12 minutes or so. That's it. All done and absolutely ready. Dish it out piping hot with Poppadums or Papad alongside. Enjoy! Yum!
