Green Gram Vadas

#cookpadindia These crispy and yummy vadas made from whole Moong or Green Gram make an excellent accompaniment or a snack. Healthy and delicious, these are an ideal option at tea-time or Shaam Ki Chai. You will love it's crisp and crunchy texture. There are plenty of options to choose from when making them. Like for instance, you can add Red Onion, Spring Onion Greens, Spinach Greens, Fenugreek Leaves, Purslane Leaves etc. I have used all of these while making them taking turns in using. In this recipe, I have used Red Onions. Indulge in these lovely looking Vadas with your families and friends at anytime you wish to have something homemade and healthy. Happy Frying People!

Ingredient

Food ration :

5-6 servings

25-30 minutes
1/4 cup

Buttermilk

1 tsp

Salt

as needed

Oil for frying

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Grind soaked and drained Moong Daal with all the ingredients listed and make a thick batter. (Do not add much water as this will make the Vadas absorb more oil.) Instead use buttermilk as required, add it accordingly keeping in mind not to make the batter watery.

* Step 2

Shape them into small Vadas using your hands or drop them in oil with a spoon. Fry them in batches on a low to medium high heat in hot Oil.

Serve them hot with Ketchup or any Indian Chutneys or Condiments.
