#week1of5 #cookpadindia A super yum masala that goes very well with Dosas, Pooris and Chapatis. This one is simple and easy too. It tastes awesome with Bhaturas also as a perfect dish instead of Chhole. One of the most liked side dishes, it therefore is a parmesan feature at many a breakfast tables.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Boil Potatoes using a little Salt. Peel and slice them into small cubes. To a pan, heat Oil and add Asafoetida and Dry Red Chillies.

* Step 2

Now add Curry Leaves and shredded Ginger. Now add black Mustard Seeds. After they crackle, add Bengal Gram or Chana Daal. Keep the heat on a low throughout. Now add sliced Onions and saute until translucent.

* Step 3

Next add chopped Green Chillies and the Potato cubes. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, sprinkle Garam Masala and garnish with freshly chopped Coriander Leaves. Serve hot alongside Dosas, Appams, Masala Dosas etc.
