Hyderabadi Khadi Daal with Spring Onions

#week4of5 #cookpadindia An innovative touch to a very lovely recipe called Khadi Daal. It practically means that the Daal is firm and it's called Khadi here in Hyderabad. It is not mushy or soft and broken like other varieties of it. This one is an amazing side dish from my City Hyderabad and it's made with just Onions and Tomatoes along with the spices. But here in this one, I haven't added any Red Onions and have used Spring Onions instead. That's it folks. All said and done. It's absolutely easy and the quickest one to make for Dinner or Breakfast. This can be enjoyed at any time of the day, provided it's eaten with Rotis. We use it for Breakfast here and at Dinner in family because we enjoy Rotis at night. Happy Cooking Everyone! Enjoy Cooking with Zee!

* Step 2

Cover and cook on a low heat until done with the Tomatoes being soft and mushy. And now finally add the Lentils along with the water in which they have been soaked. Keep the heat on a medium high to high heat and adjust Salt at this stage. Also add in chopped Coriander Leaves. Cover and cook until it is done. The water is enough for it's cooking as these Lentils get cooked pretty much easily.

* Step 3

Serve hot with Phulkas and Chapatis. It tastes yum with any of the Indian Breads. However if desired, it can be enjoyed with simple boiled Rice and Pickle. Enjoy!
