Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash well and soak Proso millet for 8-10 hours. Wash and soak tur dal for 3 hours.
* Step 2
Soak tamarind for 2 hours
* Step 3
For masala:
Dry roast on slow gas the ingredients in the mentioned order-dhaniya, chana dal, taj, cloves, pepper, urad dal, jira, red chillies, curry leaves.
* Step 4
Do not burn the ingredients while roasting. When nice and golden red,switch off gas and mix in grated kopra.
* Step 5
Cool and grind the masala in mixer to a fine powder.
* Step 6
Sqeeze tamarind and prepare tamarind water. Add in the prepared masala, mix and form a masala paste. Add some salt to this paste and keep aside.
* Step 7
For Bisibelle:
Drain away water from the dal and take it in a big heavy bottomed vessel. Add in the soaked proso millet with it's water.
* Step 8
Bring it to a boil. Add in chopped vegetables. Add enough water to immerse everything.
* Step 9
Add some salt and haldi and cook the Bisibelle with lid covered.
* Step 10
Stir in between and add water as and when required and cook for 15-20 minutes on medium gas.
* Step 11
When the proso millet and dal are tender, add in the masala paste and tomato chopped and mix.
* Step 12
Cover and cook for 2 more minutes. Add in tadka.
* Step 13
For tadka: In oil take rai, groundnut, chana dal, urad dal, red chilli, curry leaves.
* Step 14
Add in chopped garlic and onion,hing and kaju.
* Step 15
Add tadka to the Bisibelle and mix. Lastly, add a dollop of ghee and mix. Simmer for 2 minutes and switch off gas.
* Step 16
Leave the PROSO BISIBELLE covered for 5 minutes. Serve hot with fryums or papad. Garnish with onion and coriander.
* Step 17
