Steamed Shrimp Pumpkin

The bland taste of pumpkin used to keep me away from this vegetable and my grandma’s recipe with a touch of shrimp made it one of my favourite with rice.This recipe of my grandma will definitely prove you deliciously, bowl-lickingly wrong about pumpkin.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Cut the pumpkin into cubes
* Step 2
Now in a kadai take the cut pumpkin, onions, garlic cloves. Add mustard oil, salt, red dry chilli, turmeric powder and mix very well
* Step 3
Now add the shrimps premarinated with salt and turmeric powder, add just 2 tbsp water as the pumpkin will release water and cover with a lid and cook in low flame
* Step 4
Once the pumpkin becomes soft mash it with the shrimps and onions and spices and cook till oil starts separating. Just sprinkle some raw mustard oil before serving with steamed rice.
