Peanut Rice

#vegan #2020fav #Post10 Peanut rice is a tasty South Indian rice variety made with roasted peanut powder, lentils and spices. this groundnut rice is also called as verkadalai sadam and is made in South Indian homes.

Ingredient

Food ration :

Cooking time :

20 minutes
1 1/2 bowl

water

1/2 bowl

peanuts

1 tsp

ginger

2 tbsp

cooking oil

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash rice in running water 2-3 times and Soak in water for 30 minutes.

Grate tomato and ginger. Dry roast peanuts. Collect whole masale.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add whole masale and asafoetida. Saute for 1 minute. Add grated ginger and saute for 1 minute. Add chopped onion and cook till onion gets golden brown colour.

* Step 4

Add tomatoes and Peanuts. Mix salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and pulav masala. Add rice and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add water and place the lid and cook till 2 whistles and switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically. Open the lid and squeeze lemon juice and mix well.

Serve hot with Raita or pickle.
