Paal Payasam

#OSR No festival can be complete without a Payasam and in Onam Paal Payasam it is. Though the traditional method calls for 5-6 hrs cooking, I made in 1 hr

Ingredient

Food ration :

4-5 servings

Cooking time :

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-1hr
1 litre

milk

1/2 cup

Brown Rice

1/4 cup

sugar

1 tsp

ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a wok add milk and boil on medium flame. In a bowl add rice, add water and soak for 30 mins, drain and set aside

* Step 2

Add rice to the milk and keep stirring, keeping the flame medium.

* Step 3

When rice is softened add sugar and stir to dissolve sugar. Add cardamom powder and stir once, set aside

* Step 4

In pan heat ghee, add cashew nuts and raisins, and stirred for 1 min, set aside

* Step 5

Garnish on Payasam and plate
