#cppassport #cppmexico Horchata is a very popular rice base beverage in Mexico and in Spain. There are lot of variations to the beverage. I made the traditional one enjoyed in Mexico.

Ingredient

Cooking time :

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-6h
8 cups

water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak long grain rice for 30 mins and rinse. Add broken cinnamon stick pieces to it

* Step 2

Add to a blender with 4 cups water and blend smooth

* Step 3

Pour into a bowl and keep it in room temperature for 3 hours, add rest of the water

* Step 4

Strain through a sieve and chill for 2 hours

* Step 5

Add vanilla essence, sugar and mix well

* Step 6

Pour into glasses and chill again for 1 hour

* Step 7

Garnish with cinnamon powder, cinnamon stick and enjoy
