#day8 I would like to thank Ms.Gargi Choudhury for this beautiful recipe which I tweaked a wee bit. A Kalia that is so loved by one and all Bongs.

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 people

Cooking time :

Preparation time-5 mins, Cooking time-20 mins
1/2 tsp

cumin powder

as per taste

Salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash the fish pieces well, smear with turmeric powder and salt and set aside 10 mins

* Step 2

Make pastes separately of onion, tomato, ginger-garlic and set aside

* Step 3

In a wok heat oil and fry the fish pieces until golden in colour. Set aside

* Step 4

In the same oil, add ginger-garlic paste, stir for 2 mins, add onion paste and cook for 10 mins until oil surfaces, add tomato paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook well until all mix together. Sprinkle a little water if need be

* Step 5

Add fish pieces and mix the Kaalia or curry to the fish, add 1/2 cup water, mix and keep covered for 5-7 mins on low flame

* Step 6

Sprinkle garam masala powder and close the lid. Switch off the flame and let it rest covered for 5 mins

* Step 7

Serve with steamed rice and enjoy
