Tetul diye tok Moong Dal or Tamarind in Moong Dal

Moong Dal is favourite to many Bengali’s and I’m no exception. Today I prepared with Tamarind or Tetul and added Raw Mango or Kancha Aam.

Serves - 3 servings

Preparation time : 10 mins, Cooking time : 20 mins
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Roast the Moong Dal. Set aside. Boil the Tetul or Tamarind. Peel and cut the Raw Mango and make a paste with ginger
* Step 2
Boil the Moong Dal for 15 mins
* Step 3
Add the boiled Tetul or Tamarind with the stock to the boiled Moong Dal
* Step 4
Make a tarka of Mustard oil, mustard seeds and Whole Red Chilli. When it splutters add to the Dal. Add the Raw Mango-ginger paste to the Dal. Stir well on the heat and set aside. Enjoy with steamed rice
