Turmeric Rice

#navratri Navratri festival of nine days, during nine days different types of sweets are prepared for naivedya,here made sweet and savoury version of turmeric rice.

Ingredient

ghee

2 tsp

oil

1 tsp

urad dal

1 tsp

peanuts

1 tsp

hing

to taste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and soak basamati rice for 20min then cook with turmeric till soft then make two parts for sweet and savoury.

Heat oil in kadai add musterd seeds,urad dal, peanuts saute till cooked.

* Step 3

Add red chilli,hing and turmeric powder add cooked basmati rice,salt,sugar mix it well cover and cook for few seconds then add lemon juice give it a mix top with coriander leaves and grated coconut.

* Step 4

Heat ghee in pan fry dry fruits take out,then add sugar to remain ghee and 1/4cup water and make sticky consistency syrup add Kesar strands and cloves.

When syrup is ready add cooked basmati rice and mix well top with dry fruits and sweet version is ready.
