#mychildhoodrecipe This was the only sweet dish I used to eat so on every chaturthi mom used make it for me.

Ingredient

Jaggery

1/2 tsp

salt

desi ghee

rice flour

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, in a big vessel add desi ghee, add grated coconut saute for a minute. add jaggery in it coarsely blend poppy seeds and add to the coconut mixture. Add cardamom powder and a pinch of salt. cook till jaggery and coconut incorporate properly. stuffing is ready.

* Step 2

Now in a thick bottom pan add water, add oil, sugar, salt to give a boil. once starts boiling add rice flour with continuous stirring. avoid lumps.

* Step 3

Cover it and cook for 5 minutes. Take out in plate knead soft dough. Divide in small portions. With hand spread it like puri. The Center should not be thin.put coconut stuffing in it. With hand close it. Modak is ready.

* Step 4

Prepare steamer. place fresh turmeric leaves in it. place modaks, steam for 10 minutes. turmeric leaves give a nice aroma to hot modak.put Kesar milk on it.

* Step 5

Pour desi ghee generously and enjoy hot modak.it is a heavenly combination.do try this.
