Fried Cheese Bites

Fried Cheese Bites

I had roughly 8 oz of fresh mozzarella leftover from another recipe so I whipped up these babies. I didn't get a great picture of these because I forgot to snap a pic as soon as they were done and all that was left was what went onto my own plate. Lol

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Arrange 3 small bowls side by side. Mix flour and 1/4 tsp salt in one bowl. Beat egg and 1 tsp water in center bowl. In final bowl mix bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, and last 1/4 tsp salt.

* Step 2

Working in batches dredge cheese cubes in flour, then egg wash, then breadcrumbs. Coating all sides very well. Note: You may need to gently press the breadcrumbs into the egg layer. If you feel the need repeat the egg and breadcrumb layers.

* Step 3

Once coated arrange in a single layer on a platter. Place in freezer for at least 1 hour, and up to ready to use. Note: If you want to store for later use another day transfer to a freezer bag after 1 hr.

* Step 4

When ready to cook heat enough oil for deep frying to 350°F. Let cheese bites sit out while oil heats. Place cheese bites in hot oil and cook until golden. This only took about 2 minutes for me.
