Masa

Masa is very delicious and it can be served with so many things like soups,honey,syrup,quli-quli and so on. #kanostate

Ingredient

Food ration :

6 servings
3 cups

white rice

1/2 cup

cooked rice

5 tbsp

sugar

1-2 cups

water

1 tsp

salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak rice for at least 6-8 hours but preferably overnight, drain and rinse.

* Step 2

Cook 1/2 cup of rice and allow it to cool completely, mix together. with the soaked rice

* Step 3

Put the mixture into a blender and add water gradually, blend until you get a smooth and creamy consistency. The consistency shouldn't' t be too watery or too thick,it should be like pap.

* Step 4

Pour in the batter into a very large bowl because the batter will rise after adding yeast

* Step 5

Add yeast and mix well, cover and allow it to rise for 1-2 hours.

* Step 6

After 2 hours, add in the salt,sugar and baking powder (baking powder help masa to look fluffier).

* Step 7

Chop onions and add

* Step 8

Heat up masa pan and add 1 tbsp vegetable oil to each mould, fill each mould with masa mixture and fry.

* Step 9

With the aid of spoon,turn the other side and fry until golden brown.
