Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Firstly, in a bowl add the almonds and hot water and let it soak for 15 minutes.
* Step 2
After the set time, peel off the skin.
* Step 3
Add the peeled almonds and the cashewnuts in an electric chopper/mixer grinder and pulse/blend to a coarse/fine powder.
* Step 5
In a pan, add the sugar and water and stir till the sugar dissolves.
* Step 7
Add a generous amount of saffron, cardamom powder and one tablespoon of ghee and cook till the sugar melts completely. Add in the almond-cashew powder and mix well on low flame.
* Step 8
On low flame, stir continuously until the mixture thickens and separates from the pan. Add one more tablespoon of ghee and continue to stir. Quickly remove from the pan and transfer it on to a butter paper. Set it into a rectangular block. Top it with the crushed almonds and cashewnuts. Place another sheet of baking paper on top and roll or press it gently and evenly, using a roti presser. Cut into desired shape and size. Store it in an air tight container.
