Chilli Garlic Prawns

#Nov #W2 Chilli Garlic Prawns is an Indo Chinese dish which can be prepared easily with few ingredients and tastes delicious. It is a sizzling combination of batter fried prawns alongwith vegetables, Asian hot ,sweet and sour sauces and fresh herbs which makes this dish very appetizing. Serve them as an appetizer or as a side with noodles or fried rice.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Devein and clean the prawns.Smear salt,soy sauce,black pepper powder,1 tsp oil and cornflour on the prawns and set aside for 10 minutes.Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns lightly on medium heat flipping gently to and fro for 3 minutes. Do not overcook the prawns as they tend to become hard and rubbery. The cornflour gives the prawns a crispy coating while they are soft inside.Set aside on an absorbent kitchen tissue.

To make Chilli Garlic Prawns: Clean the pan and add 2 tbsp more oil.Saute garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add chopped and slit chillies,capsicum and onion cubes.Saute on high flame for 2-3 minutes until capsicum and onions are partially cooked,but they should not lose their crunch. Add chilli sauce,tomato sauce,soy sauce,vinegar,pepper,salt and sugar.Add 2 tbsp water and toss.Add the fried prawns.

* Step 3

Add ajinomoto and toss the prawns in the sauce to combine all.Garnish with chopped coriander or spring onion and serve crispy Chilli Garlic Prawns as an appetizer or as a side with noodles or fried rice.
