This puto flan is one of the popular Filipino dessert similar to leche flan.
It’s the combination of puto and leche flan.
Puto flan is a fluffy and delicious variation of the famous steamed rice cake with its creamy egg flan on the bottom.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Lightly brush puto molds with melted butter. Bring to a boil the water in a steamer.
* Step 2
Beat the egg yolks, add the condensed milk. Whisk until the texture becomes smooth. Add the vanilla extract. Stir all the ingredients until well blended.
* Step 3
Fill each mold a third with the custard mixture. Arrange in a steamer. Wrap steamer cover with clean kitchen towel. Steam for 5 minutes. Remove from the steamer and let it cool.
* Step 4
In a separate bowl, sift all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix together until well combined.
* Step 5
In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy. Add gradually 3/4 cup sugar. Beat until stiff.
* Step 6
Carefully fold the egg whites mixture to the flour mixture. Stir together until well blended. Do not over mix.
* Step 7
Pour puto batter into molds and continue steaming for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not over steam.
* Step 8
Remove from heat. Take the molds out of the steamer. Let it cool. Gently remove puto flan from molds.
