Strawberry simple syrup

I am trying to reduce food waste. Great for milk shakes, ice cream, I even dipped my pancakes in this, so good

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a medium saucepan pan bring all ingredients to a boil, mix until liquid is clear.

* Step 2

Once it has came to a boil, reduce heat to in between medium & medium low & let simmer for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove from the heat and place a lid over the the pot and let it come to room temperature.

* Step 3

Once cooled, place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and pour the mixture over that. Press down with a spatula for about 3 minutes to really extract all of the strawberry juices.

* Step 4

Transfer your syrup to a container and cover with plastic wrap or a lid and place in the refrigerator for 4 hours to chill. After it has chilled, you can use in your favorite drink, over ice cream or a cocktail. Good in the fridge for up to a week.
