Ridge gourd peel chutney
Ridge gourd peel chutney is very yummy. It adds a nice sweetness, sourness and spiciness to your meals. A nice side dish...try out...
Use your ridge gourd peel... don't throw away...But remember that, your ridge gourd must be fresh while you are using it.

Ingredient

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a vessel put the peel of turei. Add salt, turmeric and water. Cook till the peel looses it's rawness. Take out the peel and keep aside.
* Step 2
Next place a pan/ kadhai. Heat with oil. Splutter cumin seeds. Add gota urad dal,dry red chilli as per your taste and dust hing.
Put the cooked turei peel. Mix.
* Step 3
Fry for sometime. Next add the extracted tamarind pulp, little water and jaggery powder. Mix and let it be on slow flame cooking. As all the ingredients combine well with each other, switch the flame off and let it cool.
* Step 4
As it comes to room temperature, add water as required and grind it into a chutney.
Transfer into a serving dish.
* Step 5
Mix and serve with hot rice.
It's nice.. sweet, sour and spicy...
