Sweet and sour drumsticks

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Take the chopped drumsticks, add salt and water to cover them. Boil them till cooked. Strain. Discard the water. Keep aside.

* Step 2

Next place a pan to heat with oil. Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds, add dry red chili and curry leaves. Add a dash of hing. Now add chopped onion and saute till brownish. Add chana dal, salt, turmeric powder, and mix. Cover and cook till dal is softened, but not mushy.

* Step 3

Next, add the cooked drumsticks. Add red chili powder and coriander powder. Mix and let it be on a medium flame for some time. Next, add tamarind pulp. Mix. Add water and let it cook for some time so that flavors combine.

* Step 4

As it's well cooked, add jaggery powder and mix. Jaggery will dissolve. Cook at slow flame till you get a perfect consistency. Put roasted cumin powder.

* Step 5

Sweet and sour drumsticks is ready. Switch the flame off. Let it settle for some time before serving.
