Apple- cinnamon sooji halwa

The sooji (semolina) halwa is a common dish in every household. But giving an apple- cinnamon twist adds to the flavour and gives an awesome outcome to the dessert. Do try..I have made this using less ghee and it turns out well. #cookpadindia #cinnamon #halwa #sooji #spiceweek3

Ingredient

Food ration :

2-3 persons

Cooking time :

20 minutes
1/2 cup

sugar

2 tbsp

ghee

1 pinch

salt

as required

Few tooti frooti

as required

Few silver balls

2 cups

water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Place a kadhai to heat. Into that put sooji and dry roast with patience till it turns brown. Keep aside. Next dry roast the dry fruits and kishmish. Keep aside. Next peel and cut into small pieces an apple. Add little water and grind coarsely. Next in the kadhai put water, salt, sugar and cardamoms.

Add cinnamon powder and apple puree. Let all boil together.

As it is boiling and has reduced a bit, add the dry roasted sooji and dry fruits. Stir continuously to avoid any lumps.

* Step 4

Add ghee and mix. Switch off. Cover for sometime. Then give a gentle mix.

Apple- cinnamon semolina halwa is ready to serve... Decorate with silver balls and tooti frooti.. Serve... I like it warm.. How do you like it?
