Sticky Lemon Sauce, (Chinese Takeaway Style)

A classic Chinese takeaway staple. Often paired with a batter coated chicken breast or thigh. Simply make up your chicken or non-meat alternative and then toss in this delicious sauce for a zingy, tangy and delicious meal. Perfect for a weekend family fakeaway!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a small bowl mix together the lemon juice, water, light soy, sugar, white pepper and cornflour until smooth and no lumps remain. Add in half of the lemon zest too, and stir through. Reserving the rest as garnish.

* Step 2

Once your chicken or meat-free alternative is cooked set it aside. Heat the lemon sauce on a small saucepan or in a wok until simmering and once it's thickened up remove from the heat. Add the cooked meat to a wok then pour over the lemon sauce and toss it so it completely coats the chicken pieces.

* Step 3

Serve up and garnish with sliced spring onion and the rest of the lemon zest. Enjoy! :)
