Urad Dal Masala

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash the mixed dal many times and soak for 30 minutes. Pressure cook dals and turmeric for one whistle.
* Step 2
Heat oil in a kadhai, add curry leaves, hing, cumin and mustard seeds and allow to splutter the seeds. Add the onion masala paste and saute till rawness goes away.
* Step 3
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, and saute till tomatoes are soft and mushy.
* Step 4
Add coriander powder and garam masala and saute till aromatic.
* Step 5
Mix the required amount of water and bring to boil. Add this masala gravy to the cooker with boiled dal.
* Step 6
Again bring a boil so that the masala gravy is well mixed and cooked with dal.
* Step 7
The Urad dal masala is ready now. Serve this delicious dal with your main course roti/chapati.
