Urad Dal Dhokla

#boxweek18 #Dhokla #Curd #spiceweek6 #mustardseeds Dhokla is a Gujurati breakfast recipe and we all know that. Here, I have made dhokla and the main ingredient is urad dal batter. The Dhokla came out soft, spongy, and delicious.

Ingredient

Food ration :

5-6 servings

Cooking time :

15 mins
1/3 tsp

methi seeds

1 Tbsp

rice powder

1/4 cup

curd

1 tsp

sugar

1/2 tsp

sweet soda

2 Tbsp

refined oil

1/4 tsp

hing powder

1/3 tsp

cumin seeds

1/2 cup

water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak dal and methi seeds for 5 hours.

Grind to a thick batter.

Mix rice powder and curd, whisk well.

Add turmeric powder, black pepper, chili flakes, and salt. Whisk well again with no lumps.

Add soda and s few drops of water to activate soda. Transfer the batter to a greased container.

To the boiling water in a steamer keep a standard. Place the container with batter.

When cools down remove the urad dal dhokla from the container, cut it into pieces.

For tempering heat oil in a tadka pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds and allow them to crackle.

* Step 9

Add curry leaves, green chilies, hing, and sesame seeds. Cover the pan as sesame seeds will splutter.

* Step 10

Add water salt, sugar and allow to boil.
