Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Clean, wash and soak the dal in warm water. Cut the veggies earlier and keep in water to prevent brinjal and raw banana turn black.

* Step 2

In a pressure cooker take 3 cups of water. Add the turmeric powder and washed Arhar dal. Boil for 3 minutes without covering.

* Step 3

Now mix the chopped veggies, grated coconut and pressure cook for 1 whistle. Let the cooker cool.

* Step 4

In a wok heat ghee. Allow the panch phutan to splutter. Add tej patta, chopped onion and green chili. Fry till the onion translucent.

* Step 5

Now and chopped tomatoes, grated ginger and salt as per required. Cook in medium heat till chopped tomatoes are soft and mushy.

* Step 6

Add half a cup of water, mix well, bring to boil and transfer to cooker containing boiled dal, grated coconut and veggies.

* Step 7

Mix well. Cook and bring to boil without covering. Switch off the flame and add the fried Cumin powder to give a beautiful aroma and taste to the prepared Dalma. Now the Dalma is ready to serve. Thanks
