Mahashivratri Special Varai Upma/ Sama Upma
Sama rice upma or Bhagar in Marathi is an ever popular dish since olden times in our country. Made from Sama chawal which is a millet called ancient millet is also known as Moraiya/ bhagar/ samak rice/ sama ke chawal.
It is highly nutritious with good content of protein, carbs, calcium and zinc. The millet is cooked with a tempering of ghee, cumin, green chillies and seasoned with groundnut powder, salt, chilli and cumin powder, lemon and it's tastes delicious!

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
First, heat ghee. Splutter cumin and then add green chillies, ginger and saute well. Then fry cashews and peanuts and remove and keep aside.
* Step 2
Then add the sama rice and fry well.
* Step 3
Cover and cook on low heat till done and sama rice softens. Then mix in lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
* Step 4
Mix in the nuts, add 1tsp of ghee on top and serve with fresh curd! Yummy!
