Ingredient

1 cup

moong dal

2 cups

milk

3/4 cup

milk powder

3/4 cup

sugar

1/3 cup

ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and soak moong dal for 30 minutes.

Take 1.5 litre milk in a pan,boil.Add soaked moong dal.

Cook on low heat till moong dal is soft.Cool and transfer in a grinder.Grind to smooth.

Heat a wok/kadahi.Add half of ghee and reserve half for further use.Add moong dal paste.Cook on low flame till thick.It will take about 15 minutes.

When moong dal is thick,add sugar,cardemom powder and orange food colour,mix and cook for 2-3minutes on low heat.

Now add milk powder and remaining milk.Mix well.Cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes.

* Step 7

Mixture is thick and started leaving the pan surface.Add remaining ghee.Mix well.

Transfer the mixture on butter paper /greased tray.Sprinkle pistachio flakes,levelthe surface and keep in frigde for 2-3hours.

* Step 9

After 3 hours the mixture is set well.Cut into desired shapes.Moong dal burfee is ready to be served.
