Ingredient

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Take a mixing bowl, add rice & dal, mix well. Wash it, soak in water for 1 hour. Strain it. Keep aside.
* Step 2
Take a pressure cooker, add ghee, heat it.
* Step 3
Add laung & tejpatta, saute it for a sec.
* Step 4
In goes hing & zeera, let it splutter.
* Step 5
Add onion now, stir fry it until light pink. Add green chilli now.
* Step 6
Add in ginger garlic, saute it until rawness is released.
* Step 7
Add in tomato & salt, saute it for 2 minutes. Do not make it mushy.
* Step 8
In goes khichdi, mix it well.
* Step 9
Now add haldi, dhania, red chilli & garam masala powder, stir fry it for 2 minutes.
* Step 10
Add 4 cup water, mix it well. Give a boil.
* Step 11
Cook it on high flame till water is reduced.
* Step 12
Place the lid, give 2 whistles at high flame. If you want to make khichdi a lil runny, add 1 cup more water before placing the lid.
* Step 13
Lower the flame, cook it for 7 minutes. Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally.
* Step 14
Open the lid, take out in a serving dish, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.
* Step 15
A good one pot meal, can be served along with salad, chutney, dahi, ghee or achaar.
