Kesariya payasam

A delicious, creamy, rice and milk enriched with cashews and nuts payasam is a south Indian dessert, a version of kheer, made on various festivals and celebratory occasions like onam. Ingredient

Cooking time :

50-55 minutes
1/4 cup

rice

1/4 cup

sugar

10-12

cashews

almonds

15-20

pistachio

2 tablespoon

desi ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Take one big kadai add ghee and fry cashews and almonds. Keep aside. Then add rice and fry for 2-3 minutes and add milk.

* Step 2

When milk boil keep the flame on low heat and stirring it until it becomes 3/4. Then add kesar and sugar and cook for another 5-6 minutes.

Chop the nuts and mix it in the milk mixture with cardamom powder and save some for decoration. Turn the flame off and serve with chopped nuts.
