Suji and carrot halwa

Ingredient

1 cup

semolina

160 gm

butter

1/2 cup

sugar

1 1/2 cup

milk

1

egg

1/4 tsp

saffron

2 sticks

dalchini

10-12

kishmish

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Melt butter in a vessel and add the dalchini, kishmish and elaichi. Saute for a few minutes then add the suji and grated carrot and roast till suji is almost golden and leaves a good aroma.

* Step 2

Whisk together the egg, milk and saffron and add this to the roasted suji. Mix well. Add the desiccated coconut and elaichi powder and mix well. Cook on simmer.

* Step 3

Once the milk is soaked up by the suji add sugar and mix well. Place the vessel on a tawa, cover and cook on simmer till done. Enjoy!
