Sautéed spinach with garlic

This is a simple spinach dish that is a favourite in our house. This can be used as a side dish or to top sourdough toast or daal or mixed with mushrooms for an easy brunch dish. It’s easy to add a twist - I often add a drop of sesame oil and a sprinkle of sesame seeds and/or chilli or cook with onions (slice and cook slowly) and/or vegan feta and wrap with filo and or spring roll pastry for a spanakopita style dish. . #goldenapron2023

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat the oil in a small wok or pan on a gentle heat.

* Step 2

Add the sliced garlic. Cook gently got a few minutes until it just starts to colour.

* Step 3

Add the washed and chopped spinach to the hot pan. Stir until wilted.

* Step 4

Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt and a squeeze of lemon. If you have an unwaxed lemon you could add a little zest. The dish is ready to serve (see suggestions)
