Fluffy and quick koulouria from Thesaloniki
Easy, fluffy, quick, tasty koulouria (sesame bread rings, like bagels)!!!
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Preheat the oven to 235°C. Place a small deep baking tray with water on the bottom rack (you want steam in the oven while the koulouria are baking).
* Step 2
Mix the flour, the salt, the sugar, the yeast, the tahini and the margarine in a large bowl.
* Step 3
Move the dough on a counter and knead for 10-15 minutes (the dough should be a little firm). Divide the dough into 18 equal parts.
* Step 4
Place plenty of water in one bowl and plenty of sesame seeds in another.
* Step 5
Form strings with the dough pieces of 20-25 cm each and close them into rings.
* Step 6
Dip them first in the water and then the sesame seeds.
* Step 7
Place them in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and set them aside for 20 minutes at a hot place to rise.
* Step 8
Bake the kouloura in the preheated oven that has the tray with the water for 18-20 minutes at 235°C.
