Lahanodolmades in tomato sauce

Amazing lahanodolmades (Greek stuffed cabbage leaves)... If you try them once, you will want to have them all the time.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Mix the ground pork with the rice and the onion that you have finely chopped and then add the spices. Add a little water so that the mixture isn't too firm.

* Step 2

Wash the leaves and spread them out, if they are too large cut them in half. Place some of the mixture in each one, then fold and roll. Press the ends inwards so that they don't unfold open up.

* Step 3

When you place them in the pot, place the folded end side down so that they don't open up, after lining it with the pieces of cabbage that you will not use and a little oil so that they don't stick. It would be better if you use a non-stick pot. Arrange them spirally, one next to the other keeping them tight together so that they don't move around.

* Step 4

Wrap and arrange the rest of the leaves in the same way.

* Step 5

You can place pieces of cabbage and the bacon between the layers.

* Step 6

Finally, add the water with the tomato sauce or the tomato paste and the bay leaves. You need boiling water to cover all the layers that you have made.

* Step 7

Cook over strong heat until they start boiling and then lower it.
