buttermilk

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

* Step 2

Stir in buttermilk; knead dough gently.

* Step 3

Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.

* Step 4

Cut with a 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.

* Step 5

Bake at 450°F for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

* Step 6

YIELD: 10 biscuits
