Candied flowers πŸ’

Inspired by Ashley who put his recipe on Cookpad. I have added some vodka into the white egg too to make it dry quicker. Thank you so much for such a great idea.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Beat egg whites with your hand whisk. Add a couple of drops of vodka to help the flowers dry quicker.

* Step 2

Using fresh picked flowers, dont leave them out too long otherwise they will be hard to paint. Paint each flower individually with beaten egg white using the artist's paintbrush the small one is the best to use.

* Step 3

When thoroughly coated, sprinkle some caster sugar and place on the dry tray to dry. Flowers are completely dry when stiff and brittle to the touch.

* Step 4

This step could take 12 to 36 hours, depending on humidity and size of the flowers.

* Step 5

Store the dried, candied flowers in airtight containers until ready to use. They will keep for as long as a year.
