Stuffed purple yam (kaatla)

This dish is made in Surat during winters, we get beautiful pigeon peas( lilva tuvar) & green peas which enhance the flavour of this dish. It's quite healthy as well since it's steamed and is made using only 1tsp oil.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Peel the purple yam, & cut them in thick slices, then spread little oil on them & sprinkle salt on them & keep them aside.
* Step 2
In a idli steamer, heat 3 glasses of water, keep a stand in the bottom of the vessel, cover it & preheat the steamer for 10minutes.
* Step 3
Crush green peas & pigeon peas & take them in a bowl, add green garlic paste, ginger paste, green chilli paste, fresh coconut, salt and mix it well.
* Step 4
Now stuff this stuffing between two slices of purple yam & steam it on medium to high heat for 15minutes.
* Step 5
After 15-20minutes remove the steamed purple yam outside, drizzle little oil on it, sprinkle white sesame seeds, chopped coriander, fresh coconut & serve hot.
