Bechemelle Sauce (a.k.a. White sauce)

A fantastic and simple sauce that can be used in many ways and for many different dishes.

Ingredient

Cooking time :

15 minutes
2 TBSP

Flour

1 Cup

Milk

1/2 Tsp

Salt

1/4 Tsp

Pepper

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Begin by melting the butter in a sauce pan on low heat.

* Step 2

Add flour, salt and pepper, and stir. Continue to heat on medium heat until the mixture starts to thicken and bubble.

* Step 3

Slowly stir in the milk and bring back to a rolling boil. Keep boiling until sauce thickens. About 2 minutes

* Step 4

Optional steps:

* Step 5

You can melt ½-1 Cup of grated cheese into the sauce to make a delicious cheese sauce or add some dill for a nice creamy sauce for veggies.
