Taiwanses Braised Saucy Pork Belly (卤肉饭)
This is gluten free version. No dark soya sauce.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Boil the eggs first and set aside for later use.
* Step 2
In a wok/pot, on high heat. No need to add oil, add pork straight away. Cook until the pork oil comes out and pork turn browny.
* Step 3
Once the pork turn brown, turn the heat to medium. Add ginger slices and shallots.
* Step 4
Add rock sugars in. Keep stirring.
* Step 5
Add garlic and spring onions. Mix well.
* Step 6
Add 2 tbsp oyster sauce, then 3 tbsp soya sauce and then 1 tbsp cooking wine.
* Step 7
Add water enough to cover the pork, add five spice powder, white pepper powder.
* Step 8
Add eggs and tofu, cover the lid and simmer for 45 mins.
* Step 9
Open the cover and let it continue cooking for another 10 mins to thicken the sauce.
* Step 10
Sprinkle some spring onions to garnish. Serve.
