Cherry streusel pie

Ingredient

3 1/2 tablespoons

flour

6 tablespoons

brown sugar

1 cup

sugar

1 teaspoon

cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon

vanilla

1 pinch

salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Roll out the pie crust to 13 1/2 inch round and transfer to a 9 inch glass or ceramic pie dish. Crimp and form a high rim (1/2 inch above the sides). Chill at least 30 minutes.

* Step 2

Streusel: Mix the 1st 4 ingredients. Add the butter and vanilla and rub in with your fingertips until small clumps form.

* Step 3

Filling: Preheat oven to 375 F. Place a baking sheet under the pie plate to catch the drips. Mix the first 4 ingredients together and then add the cherries. Let it rest for 10 minutes, until the cherries release juices. Move the filling to the pie crust and sprinkle the streusel over the top, pressing it to adhere.

* Step 4

Bake 20 minutes and then tent with foil. Bake an additional 1 hour and 10 minutes until the filling is bubbling and the streusel is golden. Cool on a rack.
