This Daal as the name suggests is made with Yellow Lentils or Moong Daal and is so called because of the fact that it is made without Red Chilli powder and Tamarind. This is the reason, that it's called Meethi in Hyderabad. This particular simple Daal is a favourite Breakfast as well as a Dinner dish and is usually relished with Rotis. In this recipe, torn pieces of Rotis or Phulkas are added to the Daal and mixed. It should be completely soaked in Daal. And then it's eaten. This is the way, it's enjoyed in my City. And is an absolute favourite of everyone, be it young or old. It's relished in this way only and let me tell you one thing that it's best enjoyed in this way alone. Try this for your families and friends. Iam sure they will definitely love it. Kids will surely be more than happy to take a bite. And not only that, it's the best thing for our elderly too. They can enjoy it without any difficulties in chewing. So all in all, an excellent one to choose for your next meal.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Pressure cook Daal with the ingredients mentioned with about 2 cups of water for 5-6 whistles. Let the pressure settle down completely before opening the lid.
* Step 2
Open the lid and allow it to simmer. If needed, add some more water to make it semi thick. The consistency should be semi thick for this lovely looking Daal.
* Step 3
Meanwhile, heat Oil and add sliced Onions and Ginger garlic paste. Saute on a low to medium high heat until golden brown and done. Add some chopped Coriander Leaves too. Add this hot tempering to the cooked Daal. Adjust Salt and serve hot with Phulkas, Chapatis and even Rice. But it's best eaten with Rotis. Enjoy your meals!
* Step 4
This is the best way that it's enjoyed. Just break into pieces and add to it. Soak it well and enjoy your mealtime.
